About Us

Our Story

At the heart of our business is wellbeing model Te Whare Tapa Whā, which guides how we care for our people and operate day to day. We believe true strength comes from balance taha tinana (physical wellbeing and safety), taha hinengaro (mental wellbeing and clear thinking), taha whānau (strong relationships and teamwork), and taha wairua (purpose, values, and connection to the whenua).

We are deeply motivated by manaakitangawhanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga. Creating meaningful opportunities for our rangatahi is central to our kaupapa, as is supporting our hapū and iwi through employment, training, and positive contribution to the community. For us, scaffolding is more than just providing access — it is about building pathways, strengthening people, and leaving a legacy that reflects who we are and where we come from.

At Glasgow Scaffolding, every project is approached with professionalism, respect, and heart.

Established in 2017, Glasgow Scaffolding is a proudly Taranaki-born, whānau-owned Māori business specialising in working at heights. Built on strong foundations of safety, skill, and integrity, we deliver reliable scaffolding solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the rohe.

Our journey is inspired by the legacy of Des Glasgow, whose lifelong passion for the scaffolding industry lives on through his son, Ramsey, and the values that guide our business today. That legacy is reflected in our commitment to high standards, strong work ethic, and pride in the mahi we do.

As tangata whenua, born and bred in Taranaki, we have a deep understanding of the land, the conditions, and the people we work alongside. We stay closely connected to regional growth and new developments, allowing us to respond with informed, practical solutions tailored to our community. Our local knowledge strengthens our ability to deliver safe and efficient outcomes, no matter the environment or scale of the project.

  • We prioritise the health and safety of our team, clients, and the public in everything we do. No job is more important than doing it safely.

  • We value strong relationships with our staff, clients, and community. We treat people with respect, and we build trust through honesty.

  • We look after our people. Inspired by Te Whare Tapa Whā, we take a holistic approach to wellbeing supporting our team not just as workers, but as whole people.

We value our team culture

We are committed to maintaining a healthy and positive work culture. Operating in a male-dominated industry, men’s mental health and Hauora are central to how we work. We place strong emphasis on building a supportive and inclusive environment for our team, where everyone feels valued and supported.

We take pride in fostering a workplace that encourages personal growth and skill development. Our team is made up of experienced scaffolders, fathers, husbands, and rangatahi Māori. We believe that when our people are supported and encouraged to nurture their four pillars at home, Taha Tinana, Taha Wairua, Taha Whānau, and Taha Hinengaro, they can thrive and perform at their highest level at mahi, delivering exceptional results on every project.
